Foreman: I'm ready!
Unbeaten Junior Middleweight prospect Yuri Foreman will have his third fight in as many states this year when he takes on Troy Lowry on the PPV under card featuring David Tua and Jameel McCline on Friday. Foreman (18-0, 7 KO's) is fresh off a shut-out decision win over Kevin Cagle last May in a bout that was televised by Showtime. Cagle was undefeated at the time and the slow (but noticeable) increase in the level of competition now continues with the fight against Lowry. Foreman, who saw a September 2 fight date go up in smoke, has been training accordingly. "Well I've been training for a very, very long time," he told Fightnews on Tuesday . . .

Promoter Cedric Kushner is flanked by David Tua (left) and Cisse Salif at Wednesday's "Rumble at the Rock" press conference at the Park Sports Bar in Seminole Paradise at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. They tangle Friday night at the Hard Rock Live Arena and on pay-per-view.
Rumble at the Rock presser!
The fighters were mostly in "good behavior mode" at Wednesday's press conference for "Rumble at the Rock" featuring David Tua vs Cisse Salif on Friday night. Tua (43-3-1, 25 KOs) and Salif (17-4-2, 16 KOs) were very respectful toward each other and simply said they're looking forward to the fight. Tua appeared to be in very good condition. Certainly the most animated fighter at the microphone was middleweight Edison Miranda who ripped his absent opponent, Sherwin Davis, then launched into a tirade directed at middleweight champion Jermain Taylor . . .

Tua ready for another title run!
"This is a very important fight," says heavyweight contender David Tua (43-3-1, 38 KOs), who on Friday fights in the U.S. for the first time in over two years. Tua takes on a heavyweight who has some pop himself in Cisse Salif, whose 17-4-2 record includes 16 knockouts. He is entering the ring for only the second time in nearly three years. Before fighting in New Zealand in March, Tua had been idle for sidelined years while engaged in a legal battle with his former managers, which is still ongoing. He looked rusty in his comeback fight against Talmadge Griffis, but Tua said he had a great camp. "I'm taking one fight at a time" Tua told Fightnews by phone from his training camp in St. Peterburg. "I need to keep winning so I can get another chance to fight for a title." Tua estimates he'll need one to four fights before he's ready to the top heavyweights. "I'll just have to see how I feel and look at things," he said. Tua looks at his time away from the ring as a positive, saying he got a good rest. "It was worth it," he commented. "Everything happens for a reason. Now it's time to move on."
Miranda: The next great middleweight?
His name is Edison "Pantera" Miranda, and with an unbeaten 24-0 record and devastating knockout power, people are starting to take notice. Rated WBO #5, and IBF #9, Miranda has flattened 21 of his 24 opponents, fifteen on the first round, and the three foes who made it to the end took a serious beating. Miranda is scheduled to battle Sherwin Davis (18-1, 12 KOs) on Friday's "Rumble at the Rock" pay-per-view telecast presented by Warrior's Boxing Promotions. The 24-year-old KO artist from Buenaventura, Colombia, spoke to Fightnews.com about his career, his training habits, his opinion of the other top middleweights and more. (
